Golden Dirt - Remember the Fallen 2
This is not just a design.
It is a moment in time — loss and greatness held together.
This artwork was hand-drawn and signed by Jocelyn Dare, born from her journey into documenting and preserving Australian Speedway Dirt Culture—telling the stories of riders, drivers, volunteers, marshals, promoters, families, and the people who built the sport from the ground up.
At the centre stands a woman holding two powerful symbols:
a jar of dirt from the loss of tracks across Australian and Frank Arthur’s "The Golden Helmet Thropy" inspiration to remember Empire Speedway and Australia's Greatest Promoter.
The jar of dirt comes from a real moment. Jocelyn was in the right place at the right time when she witnessed Baldy Williams collecting dirt into a bottle to remember Mick Doohan Raceway. She asked Baldy if she could share his story. That single act resonated deeply—reaching over 150,000 people, with each viewer feeling the shared loss of the Dirt Motorsport community.
The dirt represents 30 years of Mick Doohan Raceway, the families who built it, the memories made, and a track that shaped generations. This also includes the Brisbane Exhibtion Grounds "The Ekka" where this was the heart of the worlds best Speedway track. When a track is gone, the dirt becomes history.
The helmet symbols to Frank Arthur, worn during the golden era of speedway at the Ekka—often remembered as “The Golden Helmet.” Frank Arthur played a pivotal role in the creation of Empire Speedway Pty Ltd, helping define the heritage, showmanship, and foundation of Australian speedway during its formative years. His helmet symbolises the pioneers who came before us and built the sport during its golden years. Frank Arthur promoted speedway since 1933 for 45 years.
Australia pioneered speedway, and with that legacy comes responsibility.
This design also honours those who lost their lives on the track.
We will not forget them.
The dirt remembers.
Beloq the woman bloom three roses, each carrying truth:
🌹 One rose for her story — the artist, storyteller, and documentarian preserving what must not be lost.
🌹 One rose for their story — the riders, drivers, families, volunteers, and pioneers who lived it.
🌹 One rose for the truth — what remains when emotion fades and history stands firm.
Every shirt worn is a statement to the world:
You support Australian Speedway Dirt Culture.
Because every driver, rider, volunteer, marshal, and crew member is a professional athlete. Dirt motorsport demands training, discipline, fitness, courage, and mastery of craft. Promoters, too, are artists—crafting the showmanship that keeps this culture alive.
Australian Speedway is over 100 years old.
We wear it with pride.
We protect it with truth.
And we commit to carrying it forward for the next 100 years.
Hand-drawn. Signed. Remembered.
The dirt never lies.
Neither do the stories.
